HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD LP GETS A FLAMBOSTIC REVIEW FROM TRASH MAGAZINE

"Shot from the arm of Chuck Berry, Johnny Thunders, and Don Covay, the trashed out street vibe, low rider soul, and rock n roll verities of this record are old world charm enacted, the end result of a man fascinated with the denizens of a society hellbent on squeezing out all the fun, all the flash, all the pizzazz, in favor of an imagined security the new world order insists upon giving us. The stories are familiar- down and outers, boozers, losers, cheats, liars, strippers, crazies- all told from the perspective of a passive pimp, a weary passenger on the electric ride of life. Cody Chesnutt or Van Hunt may be considered contemporaries, but neither have Savoir Faire's ramshackle rocker outlook, fashioning much slicker product, more in synch with genre placement than the mutant, grindhouse exploitation that litters the bulk of Hooray For Hollywood."
- FRANKIE DELMANE, TRASH

DID WE MENTION THE DOWNLOAD CARD IN THE LP?

That's right folks in the limited pressing of 300, Savoir Faire has included a download card for all you people who need their digital fix! It also includes a bonus track, an extended remix of "Runaway Child".
We are currently in the process of setting up a Paypal store so in the meantime you can order it from Amoeba Records in Hollywood, Ca. Here's the link,

THE FANCY LADS-SAVOIR FAIRE'S FIRST BAND!

Back in the early mid 90's Savoir Faire joined a band called the Sonic Disciples who were in it's last days. The singer was Robbie Pivara who was an old friend & wanted to change from a Ramones sound to a more Johnny Thunders/early Stones sound, you know that R&B pirate swagger.  So with two packs of Lucky Strikes they went on a song writing frenzy, topics ranged from drunken romances, frayed love affairs, to wild parties on the Sunset Strip, all true Hollywood stories! They soon got in contact with Javiere Escovedo of the Zeros/True Believers and he turned them onto the record label Planet Of Noise who put out the 7" single. Only 1000 were pressed and it is now out of print! (they show up on ebay every once in a while).
They managed to cut some songs on no budget when this single was recorded.  "Everything Is You" & "Shake Appeal" (not the Iggy song) were written before Savoir joined the band and he only appears on side B, because side A was actually recorded by the OG Sonic Disciples lineup. Anyway Side B (Shake Appeal) is Savoir Faire's first appearance on a record. He  plays the lead guitar & is credited as Tony Hi-fi! We will write more on the Fancy Lads recordings in upcoming blogs.

R.I.P. Robbie your influence is ever present!

NEW REVIEW FOR HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD LP!

SAVOIR FAIRE-HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!
At last! like a backseat love child of Johnny "Guitar" Watson and Keith Richards, Savoir Faire brings us his magnum opus, an exploration/exploitation of the sleazy side of Hollywood, which is pretty much the whole thing. Fans of the New York Dolls, Guns & Roses, and Iceberg Slim need to get this!
