BRAND NEW SAVOIR FAIRE BIO FOR THE ALBUM "STREET VOCATIONS" BY FRANKIE DELMANE

Street Vocations

SAVOIR FAIRE

Savoir Faire - a rock n roll provocateur, bleeding from the heart to the stage- the shot down soul brother bashing through the limitations of body and mind, grabbing and groping all manor of riff and burn. Born and bred in Hollywood proper, running in the streets as a teenage punk, high on the dope of underground rock n roll and outer urban soul- the man developed and cultivated his style and sway though numerous private press releases, shaping his liquid gold into the molded modern model it presently reveals.

The mutant, grindhouse exploitation that litters Savoir Faire's 2011 debut Hooray For Hollywood - trashed out street vibe, low rider soul, rock n roll grind outs, heavy action-  the end result is a man fascinated with the denizens of a society hell bent on destroying itself in favor of an imagined security the new world order insists upon giving us. Told from the perspective of a passive pimp, with a small dose of Chuck Berry to Johnny Thunders to Don Covay along for the ride, the first cut fancy outlines a hard start to the NOW we are here to hold.

Savoir Faire's second record, Street Of A Thousand Pleasures (2013), is a city slang, street walkin' slice of gutter rot, brimming and boiling with the lust and greed and gnarly machinations of desperate people living desperate lives. On his second record he repeats and pushes many similar themes from his first, this time with additional confidence that underlines the drama and character of each track. Opener Skin On 42nd Street is pure, raunchy pleasure- a Stones strut, a hard rock slam job, with a touch Of Ray Parker Jr.'s sleazier secrets edging inward, expressing much of this record's finest points- influences vast and long- Little Richard, Prince, Shuggie Otis, New York Dolls- all shot into the same vein, feeding a fluid result that is both engaging and true. The wickedness and sleaze that informs Scandalation, the vocal phrasing, the seedy tale of sex worker seduction- a groove grind, gum chewing, swinging- a preening line of expressions. And though pure rock n roll release happily dominates half this party, there are other forays- the neon electro R&B S&M subtle funk of Cafe Flesh, the blatant country connection in Cheap Sex & Cigarettes, the dirty slow blues of Street Walkin' Woman ("you went from slut to prostitute")- all demonstrating not only the diversity Savoir Faire expresses, but the sheer audacity reporting the street scenes and alleyway washouts of Hollywood's best of the worst. Savoir Faire tells compelling tales- audio scandal sheets set to music- vivid, rock n roll mini movies with an understanding and absolution that allows you to fully live inside a soundtrack to another place, another city, another head.
